"Oh, it's probably my imagination." How often do you say that to yourself or how often have you heard that from a client or student? There you are, going about your daily life, when a guide drops in and provides a bit of information that you need. Or they appear during a healing (whether you're the healer or the client). Or they appear to you in a dream. Do not dismiss these entities or animals as your imagination. The question I always gauge myself with is, "Is my imagination this good?" The answer is most often No. Guides, helpers, angels, animals (power or totem), guardians, etc. can enter our lives at any time. Some of you may have angels or guides that you've had since childhood that you are still aware of and in contact with. They can be transitory or permanent. They give us support, love, guidance, security, assurance, warnings, information, and so much more. If you are not currently working with guides in your life, I invite you to read the wonderful articles in this issue and reflect on how much your life could be enhanced by the presence of guides. If you are working with guides, you know how wonderful life is with them around. Please do not judge your guides, be they human-like, animal, energetic, ascended master, archangel, or anything else. I have had several students say, "Who am I to have so-and-so as a guide?" Why not? They are here for you and want to be part of your life. Let them help you. Here are a few little stories from my own life.

I don't really remember when I started hearing about and experiencing the presence of guides. It may have been when I was a little girl, but I have no direct memory. Not the way I remember my oldest daughter having a fairy that visited her room every evening. I always asked about the fairy, but began to notice, as the years went on, that the fairy's appearance was getting less and less - once a week, every other week, and then finally, not in a very long time, until she was forgotten by my daughter. I can't help but wonder if that beautiful little entity is still with my daughter, only now in a different form.

I have had such delightful encounters during healings. I've had wings lightly brush my cheeks, light breezes blow past me when there are no windows open and no movement in the room, the strong presence of protective energy, and all kinds of energetic feelings of assistance. I have no fear because the sense is always that of clear and pure energy. I have a statue of Archangel Michael in direct alignment with my front door, so nothing enters my house without first facing Michael. Remember that everyone has guides, power animals, etc., whether they are aware of who or what they are. So when anyone enters your home, they come as a group!

I have my share of guides who are always with me. One of them is a beautiful etheric being who is made of so much sparkle and glitter that her features are not easily discernable. She has the look of the "typical" fairy-tale fairy. Her movements are so fluid that it almost appears that she is underwater. Her name is all vowels and I can only guess at a pronunciation. She is one of my two guides that I send to ill folks. She shifts her energetic composition and acts as a scarf for the ill one, wrapping herself loosely around their neck, shimmering in pure health, love, and comfort. The other "traveling" guide is an old man with a cane. He is dressed in a simple Gandolf-ish robe. His fingers are gnarled and he is hunched over. But his presence is that of unrockable strength, tremendous wisdom, and the certainty that comes with those who have experienced a wide spectrum of life experiences. He seems to appear to me when he needs to go be with someone who is in the midst of a challenging life chapter. His energy is that of "...this must happen, but I am here to be with you." Another one of my guides is a huge Conan-like (the barbarian, not O'Brien), handsome-beyond-handsome warrior with long jet-black hair and piercing blue eyes who is always present when I am in a relationship with a gentleman. He folds his arms with his golden rings around his sizeable biceps ... and waits. He does not speak. He just watches. If the gentleman disrespects me or causes me misery in any way, this guide is there. He is my master protector and I am very grateful for his presence.

One of the funniest encounters with those of other realms, not necessarily guides, was when I was working with the fifth dimension physicians during a psychic surgery. In this particular type of healing, the healer sits or stands perfectly still and allows instruments and other items to thread through their arms and into the "patient" until the work is done. This is a fascinating healing and I am always curious to understand what is happening. However, frankly, none of that information is really any of my business, as I am just the conduit. And that was readily made known to me during one instance. As I sat on my stool with my hands on my client's abdominal area, the scene began to emerge. What I saw was a typical, sterile, white operating room with my client on the operating table, huge lights above her, three doctors in full surgical garb, and two nurses. I was fascinated and was eagerly awaiting more activity. All of a sudden, in my vision, the surgeon with his back to me turned around very quickly, looked right into my eyes, and then abruptly pulled the curtain around himself, his team, and the operating room bed and equipment quite dramatically! I felt like I had been caught spying! He was so haughty and annoyed! Yikes! I quickly pulled myself together and re-affirmed that these types of healings are between the client and the higher powers. I do not need to be privy to any of that information; I just needed to get out of the way and be present in the way I was needed. I still giggle about that scene to this day.

The animal that I found during my first shamanic journey was a tiger. When I melded into the power and strength of that body, I could not put words to the experience. The way a big cat moves is magnificent. The power and grace were mind-blowing. There is a single-mindedness to the tiger. Not only is it beautiful, intelligent, and instinctive, but it goes after what it wants with precision, laser-like attention, and tremendous intuitive knowledge. I love my tiger! I have many other animals that I work with (particularly hawk and armadillo), and I am constantly delighted during my healings, as animals are one of the biggest pieces. When these animals come to be with my clients, they are either regarded as transitory guides or permanent ones, and are thoroughly welcomed!

I could go on and on, but suffice it to say that all of these authors and me are extremely grateful for the presence of our guides, and make it a habit to connect with them on a regular basis. How about you? Give it a try! You'll get hooked and you may even feel more supported and loved than you ever have before!
