Are you reading The Door Opener only on our website? We're glad you stopped by, but want to tell you what else may be available to you if you sign up for the print version of our magazine. Each issue includes 8 or 9 articles by Connecticut writers covering a single theme. These articles are not displayed on the website. Recent issues covered such themes as Shamanism, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Feminine Spirituality, Holistic Pet Care, Meditation, Nature Spirits and Native Americans. We alternate among metaphysical, spiritual, and holistic health themes to cover everyone's interests. The articles introduce you to the people in Connecticut involved, teaching or healing in each area. Many of our readers tell us the articles alone are reason enough to read each issue. Also, if you only read us online, you are missing the display ads. These ad contain much information on practitioners, events, special offerings, etc. that do not appear in the magazine or on line in any other form. These ads also introduce you to many of the wonderful shops here in Connecticut where you may purchase books, tools, etc. around your interests. The website gives you a peek into a very special Connecticut subculture of spiritual people. We welcome you and invite you to take the next step. If the subject matter draws you, then you are already a part of our community. The Door Opener is the community resource to find out what others are doing and how they can help you on your journey. For a community to survive and grow it needs a thriving publication. And for us to continue, we need to grow our reader base. The best way to ensure we'll be here for you tomorrow, and to help you not to miss anything that is happening today in Connecticut, is for you to support us by subscribing. Subscribers currently receive, with each copy of the magazine, inserts and flyers with information that is not available to those who buy their copies on the newsstands. For the advertiser, it is much more economical to include inserts as they can contain much more information than in an ad. And our newest incentive, of which we are very proud, is that we will be planting a tree for every subscription in our efforts to become "greener" and support our precious planet.
